The A'22 Conference on Architecture featured a number of "firsts".

It was the first AIA conference to be held in person since the beginning of the pandemic. It was also the first AIA conference to display a large-scale sample experience as a primary feature of the event.

Swatchbox, an Anguleris brand and the premier sample fulfillment platform for building products, partnered directly with the AIA to create the A’22 Sample Gallery Powered by Swatchbox. 

Through the experience, over 1,000 architects and designers were able to browse, touch, and order free samples of over 300 featured building products, representing 30 different manufacturers from around the expo floor.

Empowering Architects to Take the Next Step

The AIA Sample Gallery didn't stop at allowing architects to touch and feel products. It took the experience one step further and actually allowed them to request samples of the products for free.

Each sample on display displayed a prominent QR code on a small placard. By scanning the QR codes, attendees could add samples to their digital cart and then check out for free to receive all of their selections in one single Swatchbox after the show. Attendees who used the Swatchbox mobile app during the show received an even more curated experience for A'22.

Attendees placed mobile requests for products from manufacturers like Behr, Centria, Durasein, Owen’s Corning, PPG Paints, Rockwool, UFP Edge, and Vicwest, all with a few scans on their mobile phones. With the Sample Gallery located at the entrance of the expo hall, many architects found themselves specifically seeking out manufacturers after viewing their samples.

Each of the manufacturers on display in the AIA Sample Gallery were also made available for a limited time on the full Swatchbox Pro platform.
