This course reviews applicable structural, durability and fire testing standards, and highlights how composite decking may help meet credit requirements in LEED® and Building standards.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify how composite decking materials, recycled content, and manufacturing practices support sustainability and reduce environmental impact
  • Discuss key performance attributes such as durability, moisture resistance, slip resistance, and weathering performance that impact safety and long‑term use
  • Describe how composite decking supports LEED v5 and WELL v2 goals through minimal maintenance, reduced embodied carbon, and improved access to outdoor spaces
  • Describe suitable applications and examples of innovative composite decking solutions and explain their contribution to safer, accessible outdoor spaces
