Introducing the Winners for the 2024 BIMsmith Winter Wonderland Holiday Revit Family Competition

After more than a month, the time has come to announce the official winners of the 2024 BIMsmith Winter Wonderland Holiday Revit Family Competition.

This year’s submissions showed no shortage of creativity. Our esteemed Revit judging panel, which included Benjamin Glunz, CEO of BIMsmith, Daniel Stine, Director of Design Technology at Lake|Flato Architects, and Harlan Brumm, Director of Product Management at Autodesk, expressed how impressive each entry was this year.

In the end, the judges were able to arrive at a decision and crowned the winners of the 2024 BIMsmith Winter Wonderland Holiday Revit Family Competition.

1st Place - Christmas Lego House

This delightful creation opens up to reveal a cozy, festive interior featuring Santa Claus spreading holiday cheer and a busy helper in the kitchen preparing Christmas treats. A playful and charming addition to any holiday-inspired Revit project!

 

2nd Place - Guess Santa's Weight

Dariel Rey Garcia returns with a festive family that’s equal parts fun and functional—'Guess Santa's Weight'! This playful Revit scale features Santa on one side, a stack of presents on the other, and an adjustable input box that lets you balance the holiday magic. Can you get it just right? 

 

3rd Place - Papel Picado

Tamara Cortés R. brings a touch of Mexican tradition to the holiday season with her 'Papel Picado' family! Inspired by the intricate paper decorations often seen in Mexico, this beautiful Revit family adds a festive flair reminiscent of celebrations around churches, weddings, and birthdays.

 

Honorable Mention - Christmas Shadow Box

Jamile Tuma & Dieudonné Uwera brought a festive twist to their shadow box with a beautiful holiday scene that has six festive layers. Each layer is a nested family with 2 types, uniquely designed to be interchangeable and fit seamlessly with the user choices from the other layers.
