Anguleris has purchased the historic Sisco Building along Illinois Route 31 in Elgin and is moving forward with renovations of the 100-year-old property.
After renovations are complete, the 86,000 square foot facility will serve as a new flagship hub for Anguleris brand Swatchbox® as it continues to grow as a globally recognized leader in building product sample fulfillment.
The Sisco Building, located at 667 N. State St in Elgin, has most recently been the home of Patrick Manufacturing, a producer of precision metal components. The renovations will see the building transformed on both the interior and exterior, outfitting the former manufacturing facility for state-of-the-art warehousing and fulfillment operations for Swatchbox.
Owned by a group of architects, Anguleris is familiar with historic properties. The company moved its headquarters from Carpentersville, IL to Elgin in 2016 with the purchase and extensive renovation of another historic building at 68 S Grove Ave in downtown Elgin.
When renovations of the Sisco Building are complete, Anguleris will maintain its headquarters on Grove Ave while expanding and consolidating operations that are currently spread across multiple facilities around the Fox Valley into the newly acquired property.
Elgin architecture practice Studio Vertex has been engaged to complete design work for the project.
“This property represents a significant milestone for the Swatchbox brand and an intentional reinvestment in the city of Elgin,” said Benjamin Glunz, CEO of Anguleris. “We look forward to the bright future of global business that we can continue to proudly bring to our hometown of Elgin.”
Renovations of the property at 667 N. State St have already begun and will progress in phases over the next 6-12 months.
